Senate Bill S.1766, sec. 803
from Maynard Hirsch - mghirsch@netzero.net

Maynard Hirsch For all MGers in the U.S. Please contact your Senator about the above bill, and please pass this on to anyone you know who has an interest in older cars.

This bill will would federally fund state scrappage laws for vehicles more than 15 years old. It is sponsored by the following Senators Akala of Hawaii, Bingaman of New Mexico, Dorgan of North Dakota, Hollings of South Carolina, Johonson of South Dakota, and Kerry of Massachusetts.

You can get more info on the bill at:
www.sema.org/trade/fedleg Click on Federal Red hot issues.

You can get info on how to lobby your elected officials at:

This bill affects more than MGs. It affects any older car whether or not it is classic or collector. Remember, most classic cars have parts in common with non classic cars. This bill would dry up an important source for parts. It also would raise the cost of repair of older non-collector cars by eliminating the availability of used parts.
