The Monthly Club Meeting is held on the third Monday of each month (except no meeting in December). The meetings are from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at MACK’S GOLDEN PHEASANT in Elmhurst

		Oh no, not the mother-in-law!!?? Famous words spoken many times in movies and comedy shows for decades. Jackie Gleason and even Fred Flintstone used this saying many times! If I didn’t get along with my mother-in-law it would not make much difference as she lives 5000 miles away in a small hamlet called Bererton Heath off the A-54 in Cheshire England. Bereton Heath can be considered a suburb of Manchester. Fortunately, (or perhaps unfortunately), I do get along very well with both my mother and father-in-law! I say unfortunately because they both are so far away. Well, my “mum” and I share a similar passion i.e. top down driving in an English roadster. My passion is the “Mongrel’ a Mk III MGB. Hers is a bit different - a Triumph Herald. I know she has had 2 such cars previously with both of them being a bit run down. The condition never dulled her spirit for another. It had been several years without a Herald. Then, one day, a very special 70th birthday present arrived aboard a trailer pulled from Cambridge to Bereton Heath via my brother-in-laws Range Rover. A completely restored 1970 red Triumph Herald convertible! Susan was there to see the look on “mum’s” face but I wasn’t……..work you know! Damn, I wish they lived in Indiana!!
