Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline January 2013

books The Library Muse

Procrastinate: to put off from day to day; to defer; postpone

That is straight from Webster. Notice that the word does not have the negative connotation that most people place upon it. I myself love to procrastinate. In fact, I am considered a master in the art. Just ask Deb. Or the Driveline editors. Last fall I never got around to 'winterizing' the MGB. Just an oil change and some Stable in the gas. I didn't even put the hood (top) up. And guess what, with the mild winter we had here in Chicago I was able to enjoy a nice top down drive at least once each month.

This year I am slipping a little bit. Thanksgiving weekend was the oil change, but yesterday (Dec 14th) not only did I have the B and the Mini out for rides, I even washed the B outside in the driveway. I hope that I didn't overdo it. Maybe next year I can get caught up and do the winterizing for 2011.

MGB Story
The birth of the MGB in MG's
Abingdon Design & Development Office
Don Hayter, 2012, 89 pages, color and black & white photos, paperback

A small book in size and volume, it makes for a fairly quick read. But it is full of information, Starting with the MGA, continuing with the record-breaker EX cars, Spridgets, and Bs, and ending with the demise of MG.

New CMGC Officers

Even though this year’s election was uncontested, it is no less important than any other year. First off we’d like to thank our outgoing President David ’Dino’ Perez for all the time, hard work and dedication to the club.

George Phariss is welcomed in as our new President coming up from the Vice-President position last year. Joel-Paul Brossard and David Novak are new to an officer position and will be assuming the roles of Vice-President and Secretary respectively. Ralph Arata is continuing on with his role of Treasurer . Victor L’Heureux has moved on to tackle the position as Driveline newsletter Editor.

As in the past two years, we utilized the Driveline to distribute the election ballots. This method is proving to be an effective method in getting out the ballots to the members. The club officers wish to thank all members submitting your ballots on time for this election.

A thank you goes out to Dave ‘Cowboy’ Bralich for again serving as our election official.
