Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline February 2013

books The Library Muse

Let me apologize for missing the January meeting. I had to fly out of town on business. A trade show in Las Vegas. Sometimes life is tough. I'm am writing this piece while sitting in the train on the club's annual Amtrak trip. It amazes me how pleasant it is to travel by train as opposed to flying. No getting groped the always friendly TSA Nazis, being strapped in to a seat designed for a homunculus (look that up in your Funk and Wagnall's) inside an overgrown aluminum cigar tube, and then hurled into outer space. Instead you get to enjoy reasonably sized seats and plenty of room to get up and walk around, get a drink, and socialize with your fellow passengers. Give Amtrak a try sometime when you get the chance.

Congratulations to John Schroeder. You may recall that back in December I ran a poll on everyone's favorite Holiday dinner trimmings. John was able to correctly identify the most common answers in each category, making him the perfect holiday dinner guest. The fact that he was the only respondent to the poll helped his odds, but he still receives the $25.00 dinner gift card.

Lastly I know that you will be greatly disappointed, but there are no new additions to the library this month, so you will not get to read one of my riveting book reviews.
