Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline April 2014

New Directions
Monthly Column of Driving Events

So many conversations that I hear lately, in print or radio/tv are about spring, the winter that was so extreme, having cabin fever, it's time to get out, or are you ready for spring. I'm sure that you heard it too. This conversation is different because my Spring, Spring, Spring, and Spring refer to the upcoming events of the MG Clubs of Chicago. If you're excited to take your MG out for a ride to a 2014 Driving Event, this is going to be your spring. More events because we’re combining the driving event calendars of both clubs for the second year, and this time without date conflicts. Bang, bang, extra bang, bang, extra bang, and one more bang. What does that mean? Spring Tune-up, Spring Brunch, Mothers Day (an extra bang), Spring Chicken Rally, Memorial Day weekend (an extra bang), and Spring Tour. Something going on six weekends in a row! Can you imagine more Spring as it relates to your MG and the 2014 Driving Events of your MG Clubs of Chicago?

You should find the invitations for all these events in your newsletter. If for some reason the details were not available at press time, please check the club websites www.chicagolandmgclub.com & www.vintagemgchicago.com. Actually it is always a good idea to check the websites for any

last minute changes. I suggest that you reserve some of the dates on your calendars and put fresh gas in the tank because Cowboy and Bill Mennell, Brian and Rose Dubin, George and Jana Phariss, and Ric and Nancy Maitzen will be ready for you.

And if the newsletter editors have enough space they might put it the calendar for the whole season. That too could change as the season unfolds because we might have an opportunity for a second garage tour and we're still looking for a Lucas Memorial Night Rally.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or questions. I’d love to hear your feedback at (847) 342-9804 or reinoutvogt@gmail.com.
