Club Parts Locker Garage Sale
June 16th 10:00 a.m.
We will be opening the club parts locker on June 16th for club members to shop for those items that they have been seeking. Our inventory of items is primarily MGB stuff, with a little MGA and Midget, and even dome “T”-type stuff. We have engine parts and blocks, transmissions, brightwork, axles, sus-pension stuff, glass, etc. A few MGA body parts.
Club members are invited to inspect the parts and make a “silent auction” bid on items of interest. Remember our motto: “no bid is too low”. After all, we just want to see this stuff go to someone who can use it rather than put it in the dumpster.
The club parts locker is located at Thompson’s Grand Rental Station, 21W550 North Ave, Lombard Il 60148. This is about ½ mile west of the I-355 ramp at North Ave (Rt 64); it is on the north side of the street and is sometimes not easy to see. The club has unit D-5, and we will start at 10 am and continue until about 1 pm. You will need to park in the front lot and check in at the office for directions to our unit. If you need to get your vehicle back to the locker, call me on my cell at 630-209-8602 for the gate code.
Secrets of Jo-Daviess County
June 29-July 1, 2012
Last Call!! The Secrets of Jo Daviess County Tour will be held at the end of this month. You still have time to make arrangements and join us for a really fun driving weekend.
The full weekend begins with an afternoon recep-tion at our home on Lake Carroll followed by the “club fa-mous” fish fry at the Yellow Creek Inn. Saturday, starting at 9am in Stockton we wind our way north through Jo Daviess County and on into Wisconsin. The roads traveled range from narrow downhill plunges through creek canyons to ridge runs with wide scenic views. The day ends with din-ner at a really nice steakhouse within walking distance of our hotel in Prairie du Chien. Sunday we cruise our way back east, again on narrow winding roads, with stops at a cheese store and a winery along the way. Our end point is in Mon-roe, Wisconsin home of Baumgartner’s tavern and cheese store, one of our favorites. We plan to arrive in Monroe about 3pm to get you on your way home at an early hour.
By this time the room reservation blocks at the hotels have expired, but you may still be able to find accommo-dations. Friday night June 29 is the Country Inn and Suites at Stockton; direct phone number is 815 947 6060. Saturday night is The Bridgeport Inn in Prairie du Chien; phone 608 326 6982 or 800 234 6082, If either of these hotels is full con-tact me by phone or e-mail and I can help you with alternate accommodations.
This is the seventh running of the tour and we hope you will choose to join us.
