Garage Tour II

There is not going to be so much driving involved this time as the three garages that we’ll visit are all in close proximity. But what you’ll get to see in these three garages is definitely going to make up for the lack of driving fun. These places are packed with car related memorabilia, tools, parts and cars. It is going to be like a mini museum tour with things to see and learn at every stop.

The event will start at 9:30 am at Jeff and Sharon Powell’s garage in Melrose Park; then continuing on to Rey and Lupe Navarro’s garage in Riverside. Next stop will be Andy Simo's garage in Forest Park before heading to lunch.

Lake Shore Tour Returns
... In Reverse
Sunday, July 28th

Meet Time: 9:00 a.m.
Location: Northerly Island, Chicago

Even though the popular 1971 “LSD” rock song tells us, “And there ain’t no road just like it, anywhere I’ve found, runnin’ south on Lake Shore Drive, headin’ into town”, we will be taking some liberties and reversing the route “runnin’ north on Lake Shore Drive and headin’ out of town”. The Lake Shore Tour will begin this year on Chicago’s infamous Northerly Island. Remember Meigs Field and Mayor Daley? Conveniently, the Northerly Island Visitor Center opens at 9:00 a.m. just to provide an opportunity for a few LBCs to gather, use the facilities and grab a cup of coffee. As the tour heads north a stop is planned at the Baha’i Temple in Wilmette for a brief tour. The tour will end on the North Shore with lunch.
