Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline June 2016
Upcoming Events
MG 2016 Louisville
Maintaining the Breed

June 13-17, 2016

It looks like there will be two groups going to Louisville from Chicago. Ann and I will join the Goebberts and the Gonzales’ for a drive down on Sunday the 12th. We will arrive a day early for an early jump on the sightseeing. We want to be there in plenty of time for the Churchill Downs reception on Monday. Obviously anyone who wants to join us is welcome. There will be another group leaving on Monday.

Our route will take us on back roads but we should still arrive early in the afternoon. We will drive as many as we can.

There are many events planned for the convention. These events are filling fast. The organizers have added a second event at Churchill Downs for Wednesday. Check the site at www.mg2016.com . Registration is up and running. Hotels must be booked through the web site if you plan on staying at one of the event hotels and taking advantage of their group rates.

This is an all register MG meeting so there should be well over fifteen hundred cars on the show field. There are over 500 cars registered already. We hope you can join us!

Eligible cars are those that were manufactured in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland regardless of age or condition. $20.00 registration fee per car and you receive [2] Saturday Adult admission passes to the games. They want the cars there at a minimum between 10:00 am – noon when the balloting takes place (they can extend it), but you’re free to park it and move along and enjoy the games. Cars are staged at Main Entrance so there is a lot of foot traffic. Judging is strictly based on votes by inter-ested visitors so staging and presentation are key (smooshing helps too) if you want a chance at a trophy!!. It’s always a great time.
