McDonalds on Hwy 31 and Hwy 176 intersection next to the

Illinois Railway Museum

This Rally will have three stops along its route of the back roads of McHenry County. The first stop will be at an RC flying field to take a look at some different kind of airplanes. www.coleagles.com
Then onto Union IL to the Illinois Railway Museum for quick stop to cover the Trains theme, a great place to go back to one of those days that you can spend hours walking back into history and see some big iron. www.irm.org
The third stop will be at a private micro car museum just outside of Crystal Lake. At this location we will have a pizza and soda lunch. A donation toward the purchase of the Pizza will be collected at the start of the rally. You will be able to tour the museum ?free? and the owner of the collection will be there to answer any questions and show you his very unique collection of Micro cars from all over the world. We will have a few hours to eat and tour at this location. www.microcargarage.com This will be the ending point of the rally directions will be given to get back to the starting point.
The rally will be relatively short 70 mile and will be a "gimmick" rally with easy instructions and questions along the way to keep you on track to the location of the stops.
I will need an estimated number of club members that are planning to attend this rally to have ample instruc-tions. Please send me an email.:

Orphan Car Picnic
Sunday, August 29th, 2010

This year the Orphan Car Picnic will be a joint event between the Chicagoland MG Club and the Vintage MG Car Club. We will have a parking area staked out so we may park as a group -- however we can hold the area only until 11:00 AM, so please plan on arriving before the cutoff time.
Reinout has asked me to coordinate between the clubs, so feel free to contact me with any questions. This has been a fun event in past years, with lots of interesting cars to see (the Studebaker Starlight Coupe being one of my favorites). Please reserve the date and look for more details in next month’s news-letter. - Bill Cole - (847) 437-2036
