Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline August 2010

Sunday, August 29th, 2010
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine
Kendall County Fairgrounds
(on Rte. 71, just west of Rte. 47 in Yorkville)

For discontinued marques or models at least twenty years old, this 20th Annual Orphan Auto Picnic celebrates 50 years of the Corvair.
This year, our Orphan Car Picnic will be a joint event between the Chicagoland MG Club and the Vintage MG Car Club. We will have a dedicated all MG area staked out so we may park as a group, however we can hold the area only until 11:00 AM, so please plan on arriving before the cutoff time. Don't forget to call Bill to reserve a space.
The event has no entrance fee and hot BBQ grills and beverages (including beer) are provided. There is a large raffle at 3 PM, and the entire event is financed by the sale of the tickets. So all you need to bring is the food you want to grill or share, and some dollars for the raffle. It's always a great time with a lot of cars at the Kendall County Fairgrounds!
Bill and Scotty Cole are the inter-club coordinators, so call with questions, or else details, directions, and other useful information can be found in the flyer that can be downloaded at:
http://www.ccecorvair.com/OAP/fliers/flier2010.pdf

Please inform Bill Cole @ (847) 437-2036, if you will be coming so we can know how many spaces to reserve.

Tally Ho Rally
Sunday, August 15, 2010

Join the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago for a lovely, scenic Rally through the Barrington Hills Horse Country!
Registration is at 11:00 am, drivers meeting at 11:30 am
First car starts at 12:00 noon.
The starting point is the parking lot of the Millrose Restaurant, 45 S. Barrington Rd, just north of the I-90 Barrington Rd exit. The restaurant has a nice Breakfast Buffet that opens at 10:00 am.
The Rally route is designed to provide a fun experience, with scenic and very low traffic Barrington Hills roads, taking you past open fields, horse pastures, some amazing homes, and lovely gardens and landscaping.
The Rally end point is within 15 miles of the start and the rally length is less than 75 miles. Your rally car is an MG (with a small bonus reduction of penalty points) or any other vintage or later sports car or (shudder) anything else you have running. The Rally fee is $5. The end point will be a restaurant where we can all relax and commiserate.
