Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline August 2011

Monthly Column of Driving Events

July was a great month for our Driving Events. If you didn't make it to the ‘Tally Ho Rally’, the ‘Secrets of Jo Daviess County Tour’, or the ‘Road America Historic Races Camping Trip’ you should do yourself one big favor. And that one big favor is to read the reports in this issue. Not just reading only the words but envisioning what you're reading. Close your eyes and picture yourself behind the wheel of your MG. Try to hear the sound of your engine and try to smell some oil. And then, dream that you experience the events that you just read about. Go ahead and do it. If you like what you experience, mark the dates of the ‘Transportation Extravaganza’, the ‘Orphan Auto Picnic’ and the ‘Wine, Cheese and Beer Tour’ on your calendars. If you don't like what you’re dreaming, try the whole thing one more time. And if you still don't like it ...
Well you decide for yourself.

With the three events this past month the updated standings for the Moss Motors Trophy are as follows:
Barney Gaylord leads with 19 points, followed by Victor L’Heureux, Dino Perez, Seth Jones, and Jim Evans (13, 11, 10, 8 points resp.). With 18 points, Theresa Gaylord is in first place for the Victoria British Trophy while Liza Perez, Lois Evans, Penny L’Heureux and Amy Mehaffey are second through fifth (11, 8, 7, 7 points respectively.) The entire results can be found on the club website at www.chicagolandmgclub.com .

I'll make it short this month because I have some MG washing and maintenance to do on Emma, our 1931

M-Type. She was out quite a bit this month and we'll already have the upcoming events scheduled.
