2013 Wine, Cheese, and Beer
LOL Tour

September 20 – 22, 2013

Well, we have been east, west, and north (several times), so this year we are going south—South along old Route 66 to be accurate. We will pass through many of the small towns that earned 66 one of its nicknames, America’s Main Street. Friday night dinner will be at the Del Rhea Chicken Basket where we can sample some of their exclusive Route 66 beer. We will lunch in Pontiac, IL after touring the Route 66 Hall of Fame and Museum. We will visit a restored 1932 Standard Oil Gas Station in Odell, IL. Saturday night dinner will be in Springfield. On Sunday we will tour the Abraham Lincoln Museum. We will have lunch in Springfield before heading north towards home. We will officially end the tour after lunch, but Ann and I will drive back on old 66 so we can enjoy ice cream at the Polka Dot in Braidwood.

In case you are wondering, even though we will be having lots of fun on this tour, LOL stands for Land of Lincoln!

We hope you can join us the weekend of September 20 – 22nd.

American MGB Association’s 36th Annual Meet
AMGBA MEET 2013 for the MGB, MGB-GT & Midget
Natchez, Mississippi
September 20-21, 2013.

MG sports car production as we know it was discontinued in 1980 with the closing of the famed Abingdon-On-Thames works in the United Kingdom. But these modern day classics are being preserved forever here in North America by members of the American MGB Association. Headquartered in Chicago, the AMGBA serves enthusiastic MGB, MGB-GT, and MG Midget owners throughout the USA, Canada and throughout the world. Each year, the AMGBA holds its National Meet.

Meet 2013 will be held in historic Natchez, Mississippi on September 20-21, 2013 in conjunction with the English Motoring Club’s Brits on the Bluff. The show will be held on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River on Saturday with a pre-show get together on Friday night. Natchez is the oldest city on the Mississippi, the start of the Natchez trail and was a strategic location during the civil war.

The host hotel is The Vue Hotel (phone number: 888-946-4727) which has a block of rooms as the English Motoring Club.

Contact the American MGB Association at 773-769-7084, email: info@mgclub.org, www.mgclub.org or in Mississippi: John Turbeville at 601-940-5288, joturbe@comcast.net or www.msemc.org
