4th of July Parade, Car Show, and Party
What is the 4th of July without a parade and a picnic? Well the Vintage MG Car Club of Chicago does it in style. The day starts out early meeting at Reyes house in Riverside for donuts, coffee and juice. Cars are then driven to the parade assembly area and are marshaled into position by the Lions Club.
A leisurely stroll down pedestrian coverd streets winding through Riverside and ending at the Metro park in downtown. The entire parade was recorded and televised locally—you can view the video on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc5ykMd_zbA (cars parade at time mark 26:44min).
Vintage cars are lined up in a place of honor on the park lot and judging of the cars by class and type by the residents. Trophies were handed out. Dino Perez’s MG Limo won ‘Peoples Choice’.
A short while after the judging took place, club members drove to a Navarro family historic home in Riverside for a bodacious picnic with all the trimmings.
