June 21, 2015 Miata Autocross I
Boomers Stadium , Schaumburg, IL
 Chicagoland MG Club members Seth Jones, Bill Kalafut, James Brennan, Rich Meservey and Jim Compton participated. Since we had 5 members we got to run as our own class. Which was a good thing. As our best times were more than 10 seconds slower than the other classes. Still a great time was had by all. I really want to encourage you to join us on July 19th, when we will rejoin the Windy City Miata Club and strive for new personal best times.

July 19, 2015 Miata Autocross II
Boomers Stadium , Schaumburg, IL
At this event, again members James Brennan, Rich Meservey, Ross Compton and Jim Compton attended another autocross with the Windy City Miata Club. Bill Kalafut had planned to attend but, was unable to at the last minute. The track layout was different from our previous outing. It amazes me how simple a course looks when you walk it and how very different it looks from the driver’s seat. None of us are particularly experienced autocross drivers. James, Rich and Jim each have one previous outing and it was Ross’s first time. Once again we were our own class. We pushed ourselves to finish the course and improve our times. None of made it out of second gear as we “raced” around the course, but it felt like you were going much faster. The weather was hot and so was the competition within our ranks. Less than two and a half seconds separated the group. Rich took top honors with James in second place. Jim and Ross finished out the class. Ross was the most improved.
