American MGB Association’s 36th Annual Meet
AMGBA MEET 2013 for the MGB, MGB-GT & Midget
Natchez, Mississippi
September 20-21, 2013

MG sports car production as we know it was discontinued in 1980 with the closing of the famed Abingdon-On-Thames works in the United Kingdom. But these modern day classics are being preserved forever here in North America by members of the American MGB Association. Headquartered in Chicago, the AMGBA serves enthusiastic MGB, MGB-GT, and MG Midget owners throughout the USA, Canada and throughout the world. Each year, the AMGBA holds its National Meet.

Meet 2013 will be held in historic Natchez, Mississippi on September 20-21, 2013 in conjunction with the English Motoring Club’s Brits on the Bluff. The show will be held on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River on Saturday with a pre-show get together on Friday night. Natchez is the oldest city on the Mississippi, the start of the Natchez trail and was a strategic location during the civil war.

The host hotel is The Vue Hotel (phone number: 888-946-4727) which has a block of rooms as the English Motoring Club.

The Abingdon Trials
October 5-6, 2013

Wind down the driving season with one last adventure!

The 2013 Abingdon Trials will be an endurance-style rally that will challenge your navigational skills. Surprise yourself as you discover new roads, test your mechanical skills, and make crucial decisions.

Teams are to be comprised of a driver, co-driver, and British car built before 1982. On the morning of the rally, teams will receive their checkpoints. The object is to navigate your own route to each checkpoint in the least amount of miles, using only paper maps. No GPS or smartphones allowed, only old-school skills. A mileage check run prior to the rally will determine each car's mileage offset calibration to allow for variances in odometer readings.

Teams will be given 24 hours to complete this task, which will be more than enough time to stop for rest periods and breaks. Mileage for this event will not exceed 800 miles. Dash plaques are provided to all participants and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

A drivers meeting will commence at 6:30am in the parking lot of the Ramada Bolingbrook- 520 S Bolingbrook Dr, Bolingbrook, IL, 60440. I strongly recommend booking a room for at least Saturday night since you'll be finishing late. Also, plan to attend a pre-rally dinner on Friday night at a location TBA. Meet your friends and competitors and swap old rally stories.
Registration for this event is $25. Contact Mark Michalak for registration forms and additional info.
