Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline September 2015
Upcoming Events

    Halloween Rally
Sunday November 1, 2015

The Halloween Rally will start from the Panera Bread location in Fox River Grove, ½ mile West of the Route 22 and Northwest Highway intersection.

We’re getting together at 10:00 am and plan for a 10:30 start. We’ll finish at Galati’s Hideaway, 800 Feinberg Ct. in Cary. (see http://www.galatishideaway.com/ for the selection of menu items and craft beers)

Similar to previous versions, the Halloween Rally will replicate the format of the famous European rallies of the 50’s and 60’s. The Tulip system is used for directions to prevent you from getting lost. You’ll visit some forest preserves for the special stages to test your rally and car handling skills. To maintain the competitive spirit on the connecting sections we’ll have a challenge to do in the car. And to discourage speeding, we’ll manage the overall time of the rally with target times for each section based on easy to meet average speeds.

Being the last competitive event of the season and the Halloween Rally is your final opportunity to get points for the Victoria British Trophy. And with only two more non-competition events: Fall Tune Down and Cruise to the Rock, it is also a good opportunity to get some more points for the Moss Motors Trophy. And even if you’re not in the running for any of these, it will be your final chance to drive your MG, together with its brothers and sisters, in an organized event of the MG Clubs of Chicago. In other words, we hope to see all of you at the Halloween Rally.

Please note that the date of the rally has changed from Sunday October 25 to November 1st.  For questions you can call Phil Wydra at 847 639 5739 or Reinout Vogt at 847 342 9804.

Fall Tune-Down and Chili Party
Sunday, November 8, 2015: 11 am - 4 pm
82 King Drive - Streamwood, IL

Do you know what your winter project will be? If not come by and I am sure we can find something that should be done before next year’s driving season. I have a low-lift hoist so we can do some underbody inspection or brake work. End of the driving season is time for oil changes, some tune-up work or minor repairs. Bring your own parts, oil and a jug for oil disposal (and yes, you will take your own away).

Chili and drinks will be provided.
