Plastic. That was the future industry noted in that classic 1967 movie The Graduate. Well, I’m not a fan of plastic.

As I was in route to the start of the 2013 Wine, Cheese & Beer Tour; I could smell raw fuel. Pulling over to the side of the road, I did a little troubleshooting and found the rear float bowl was overflowing. Investigating further I found the culprit. The metal fuel needle valve had melted the plastic float at the contact point so that it would not shut off the fuel flow. I returned home to replace the float with the original metal/plastic float I removed earlier in the year trying to solve another fuel problem. Problem corrected – time lost: 1.5 hours.

With the leaves changing colors and falling, daylight hours decreasing, you would think that the driving season is over. Thinks again!... there are still plenty of opportunities left to drive our vintage cars and enjoy the camaraderie of other club members. Kettle Moraine Tour, Halloween Rally, Fall Tune-down & Chili Party are just a few of the upcoming events planned.

Check out these and all the upcoming events and activities. See you on the road...

In this month’s issue:
