I want to thank Steve Skegg for hosting a tech session at our club meeting. For those of you in attendance, I am sorry that I seemed to cut it short as we had a busy meeting with lots to talk about and I could tell that most of you would have liked to have had a longer tech session. Based on that, we will ask Steve back to an upcoming meeting to host another tech session or two. In fact it would be a good goal to hold at least two sessions per year at club meetings. Maybe we could extend the meeting time to get more of the tech and less of the meeting part. We are blessed to have all of this technical talent in our club!! It is a real joy to see it in action.

We will be celebrating our 37th birthday at our next meeting with the traditional Birthday Cake and Champagne. What a great tradition! Also, because it is Halloween month, we will have a story telling time with scary and/or horror stories involving our MG's. To tell your story, you must sign up ahead of time. Just let me know. I know several people have already come forward with stories, so this should be a lot of fun as well as informative. This can have the opposite affect however, for example, my wife does not enjoy flying because of all the frightening stories that she has heard me tell.

In October it is time for us to be starting the nomination process for next year’s club officers. As you know, we have at least one open position, VP and we need to fill this position. It would be great to have this position filled. If you are interested, let me or someone that you know so that the process can start. Nominations will close after the November club meeting and elections will be carried out during December. Also, in addition to completing the nomination process at our November club meeting, we will be watching the short movie clip “Rendezvous”, which I am told is a real must! We have several other non-elected positions to fill such as a person who is willing to sell some of our parts from our storage garage via E-bay, etc.

John and Ann Schroeder provided us with a great drive on the Wine, Beer and Cheese tour. I just wish that Jana and I would have been able to attend. We were really looking forward to making this drive. We were currently off on another trip, this time to the UK, to visit villages where Jana's ancestors on her Grandmothers side lived. In fact this is where we are as I am writing this Driveline piece. By the time you read it though, we should be back in the USA.

We have a special event scheduled for our car enthusiasts. The Mecum car auction that many of us watch on TV will be in Schaumburg on October 10-12. Our Natter and Noggin site and Manager Mike of Finn McCool’s is hosting us on Friday, October 11, by providing free parking and shuttle service between the Auction (Admission $20 and Mike is hoping to score some free tickets) and his restaurant during the day beginning at 10am until it is over at 8pm. Afterward, we will gather at Finn's for our usual Natter and Noggin. This should be lots of fun and Mike wants our MG's parked out front and we hope to be on TV as well. See our web site for more details.

The Christmas party is set for December 7 and it is time to sign up for the event. See another page of this Driveline to sign up and send in your money or go on line and print out the form and sign up. We always have fun at this event and hope that you can attend. I also hope that the Abingdon Players can make an appearance this year.
