Once again, we ended our dinner with yet another surprise visit by non-other than “Father Elvis”. He graced us with another great poetic speech and wished us safe travels and good times.

We nestled in, again, rounding up our chairs and having a last nightcap in the parking lot of the hotel. Oddly enough, we were a bit too loud and rambunctious for the guests staying in the hotel and were forced to relocate further back to the other side of the parking lot. We MG people are quite the LIVELY group!

Our last day was left up to those who wanted to journey further on to Cedarburg where there is an annual festival which hosts arts and crafts, notorious pumpkin racing and other adventurous events.

Triad Fall Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors
October 15, 2016 — 8 a.m. to 12 noon

It’s hard to believe that summer flew by so quickly. On Saturday, October 15th, we will be performing our pre-winter vehicle checks for our senior drivers. The location is Lisle Township, 4711 Indiana Ave, Lisle, IL 60532 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. These clinics, held in Spring and Fall each year, get larger each time it’s held.

As always, an operation like this requires volunteers to help with the inspections. Chicagoland MG club members have always been a key element to the success of these events, serving on vehicle inspection teams as well as displaying their vehicles for our seniors. Please set aside a few hours to participate in this fun-filled, yet very important service. Call or email me if you can participate.

We will also have members of the Windy City Miata Club helping, and of course, the Model T Ford guys will be there so seniors can have their pictures taken behind the wheel of one of “Mr. Ford’s” Tin Lizzies or in one of the MGs (with owner permission, of course). As a new feature this year, owners of two of the Model T’s will be offering touring rides around the Lisle Township campus. Other participating organizations include CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) and The Lisle Park District.
