Got Ghosts????
It’s that time of year……where ladies, we can really be moody and be a little witch!!!!! Guys…. You can say to us –“If the broom fits, fly it”! (But only on Halloween – Oct. 31st!!) Then those magic words go away…for your own sake – make them disappear!!!! Remember –”A hug a day keeps Monsters away”!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
But seriously, I LOVE OCTOBER!!! There are beautiful falling colorful leaves, Crisp nights and warm days….a truly magnificent time and opportunity to take a drive – ANY PLACE – ANYWHERE!!!!!
September events were AWESOME!!!!
On Sunday, September 8th, the annual British Car Festival once again drew in many spectators and car enthusiasts! There were MANY MG types that were showcased along with many other British cars. The weather was VERY “BRIT Like”, almost felt like we were in London with the cool overcast weather. Luckily – it was not a wash out!!! There should be a detailed article in this month’s Driveline to read about all the winners from our club and the Vintage club!! Congratulations to all who took home a 2019 Award!!!!
On September 20th thru the 22nd, The Wine Cheese and Beer Tour was again a TRIUMPH!!! There was a record turnout of 52 people – 27 cars. Although the weather was a bit “soggy”, it was most definitely NOT A WASH OUT on a spectacular ride on Saturday!! The roads were amazing!!! There were No car incidents or breakdowns thank God, other than Ray Hansen who was low on fluid in the clutch master cylinder – All fluids were replenished and ALL GOOD TO GO! Everyone had a FUN SAFE DRIVE!!! Sunday’s weather did not cooperate for the Cedarburg Festival. Hope those who did brave the storm had a good time! All n’ all it was an incredible group of MG members having a blast!! Thank you Russ & Amy Mehaffey!!! AWESOME WEEKEND!!!
The last event for September was the Volo Car Museum that took place on Saturday the 28th. This driving event is being hosted by Jim Compton & Bob Dorley. I will have to recap on this next month.
October brings us two (2) driving events:
On October 12th, Jim Vondran will be hosting and organizing the Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors in Lisle, IL. Make sure to contact Jim to let him know you will be participating. Details will be in this month’s newsletter.

Last call to save the date for a fun filled time for the Halloween Rally taking place on Sunday, October 27th. Phil & Sandy Wydra will be hosting and organizing this “HAUNTING” event!!!! There will be great roads to drive, Ghostly challenges and a prize for the BEST costume!!! Lunch will follow the Rally. All details listed in this month’s Driveline. Come out and have a GREAT TIME!!!!! Details in this month’s issue.
Events to mark down on your calendar for November are the Fall Tune Down – hosted and organized by Dave (Cowboy) Bralich Sunday 11/3. This is a great time for the guys to gather about, have a few beers and prepare the MGs for hibernation for the season. (Not to say you can’t drive your cars through the month of December if Mother Nature cooperates!!!) There will be more information on this in this month’s Newsletter.
Our Final driving event for the season is the celebrated Cruise to the Rock – hosted and organized by Jake & Ann Snyder. This will take place once again on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, 11/28. This is a traditional ride to the eminent Rock where the historical 1st car race in the United States took place in Chicago on a cold snowy day in 1895. All details should be listed in next month’s Driveline.
Hope everyone has a GREAT OCTOBERFEST and HALLOWEEN!!!
