The Rally Corner

by Reinout Vogt

Because we had no driving events for the Club Championship since the last Driveline, this Rally Corner can be very short. Or maybe, ŠŠ it gives me another chance to request your input once more for an important issue that I brought up last month. How many driving events, competitive, such as Rallies and Autocrosses, or non-competitive, maybe dinner cruises etc. would you prefer. This year we kept it low, and personally I have sort of missed getting together with all of us on a couple of very nice-driving-weather weekends.

Also, do we need to adapt the point systems for Rallies and Autocrosses, another topic that actually has proposals from a few members. Let us know what you think about this. Keep in mind, this is your club, your championship and your Rallies and Autocrosses. Please let us hear from you !

Next year I will be very much involved in the organization of the Abingdon Summer Party and after 2 seasons of serving as the Club Rally Master, I would like to pass that task along. It is not difficult, there is a well proven system in place, we have plenty of event rally masters that actually put on the events, and there is just these few suggestions that we talked about above, that may need to be implemented by the next Club Rally Master.

Did I see somebody standing up and offer to volunteer for the job?

See you at the Siemens Autocross on October 17th, The Halloween Rally on November 7th or in the next newsletter and remember, "Drive It" (there is only a little bit of the seasonš left for most of us,
