On October 6-7, 2001 the Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association in conjunction with the Easley Winery is again hosting historic sports car races at Indianapolis Raceway Park, home of the NHRA Nationals. The fifteen turn IRP road course, which opened in 1961 when many of the participating vehicles were new, has been the home of this exciting weekend of racing since 1996.

Last year's entries ranged from a 1949 Crosley Hotshot to early 90s NASCAR Luminas. Other familiar production-based cars included: Alfa Romeo, Austin Healey, Camaro, Corvette, Datsun, Fiat, Jaguar, Lancia, Lotus, MG, Morgan, Mustang, Porsche, Sunbeam and Triumph. Filling out the fields in the eight feature races were open wheeled and slippery sports racers with names such as Brabham, Chevron, Elva, Lola, Shadow and Zink.

Since all of the proceeds from ticket sales this year are being donated to the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis, we are making a concerted attempt to involve car clubs and their members. We will be offering discount advance sale tickets, an exclusive car club parking area adjacent to the paddock entrance, along with a special location for club tents. Activities will include laps around the track in your own cars and rides for kids in actual race cars. There will also be an informal car show with awards.
