3/18/02 MEETING REPORT

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 by Dave Bralich. There were 40 members in attendance and no guests. New members in attendance were Steve and Sandra Milton. They are the proud owners of a 1955 TF.

OLD BUSINESS

Mike Hirsch     Jim Evans talked about the swap meet. There were 104 vendors and 915 paid admissions. It was a great showing.
Dave Bralich announced that the SEMA was voted down in Congress. This was the bill that would have encouraged crushing of all vehicles 25 years old and older. It had been opposed by many car clubs, hobbyists and collectors.
Bill Mennell talked about the indoor driving school run by the NSSCC in conjunction with the SCCA..

NEW BUSINESS

Dave Lieb discussed the upcoming Missouri Endurance rally to be held 3/23 and 3/24. It is scheduled to last 20 hours versus the 27 hours last year and be limited to the Ozarks. He reported there are more entries this year then last year.
Maynard Hirsch, Technical Coordinator, talked discussed the upcoming Spring Tune Up Party to be held April 21st in Darien. We will have 4 lifts available to us. It will be a nice opportunity to check out the underbody of your car. Oil changes and minor repairs can also be done. We will meet at a nearby restaurant for lunch afterwards. Maynard also requested if you have ideas for technical sessions to contact him.
Dave Tucker was hosting a gathering at A1 Autobody on 3/20 and 3/21 on dent removal.
Done Anderson gave us an early notice that the Spring Chicken Rally is coming up on May 5. Details to come, but first car off at noon and it will last about 3 hours.
Bill Menell talked about the upcoming “Warrenville 500.” It is an autocross being held in the Amoco parking lot in Naperville on May 19th.
Tom Josefek is again running the famous “Land’s End Rally” to be held June 8 and 9. It will start in Beloit and end in Mineral Springs, Wisconsin. It will be 220 miles with no towns, stoplights or gas stations! More details as it comes closer.
Larry Daniels discussed regalia including a new pocket T shirt in British Racing Green.
On April 28th, the club will be hosting a Spring Tour. Details to follow.
The 50/50 raffle was won by Frank West, $38. George Goepper won an oil change pan and Barney Gaylord won a leatherman type tool.
    Meeting adjourned at 9:05

Respectufully submitted,
Mike Hirsch
