The 24th Annual Convention of the North American MGB Register
June 8-12, 2015
The MG Car Club of Toronto has been selected to host the NAMGBR convention this year— for the third time. The club's experience in hosting such events assures you an awesome program with lots of fun and camaraderie. here is so much to do in the Niagara Region that you will be well advised to come early and stay late. Dust off your passport and come over to the 'other' side for a visit.
Ann and I are attending along with several other couples from CMGC. We plan to leave Sunday, June 7, spend the night about two or three hours west of the falls and finish early on the 8th. Please check out the website at www.MG2015.com for schedule of events and pictures. You will see a very good selection of T’s, A’s, and probably quite a few post Abingdon MG’s. This is a great opportunity to show off your MG and meet some really nice and knowledgeable people.
There are many opportunities for fun and education.
It is time to register for the event if you haven’t already done so. Ann and I plan to attend Wednesday’s car show and the awards banquet and magic show on Thursday. We will drive our MG, but that is not a requirement. The deadline for early registration is May 1st for NAMGBR members. Register soon so you don’t miss the banquet and magic show. There is on-line or mail-in registration available on the site.
Note: The host hotel is sold out. The alternate hotel is the Ramada Plaza. If you think you might attend. The organizers have a wait list started for the Americana Resort. Check the event web site for information.
If you want to join us for the drive, let us know.

19th Annual All British Car Swap Meet & Autojumble
March 15 marks the day for the club’s “19th Annual All British Car Swap Meet & Autojumble”. On that day, based on recent history, over 700 shoppers will peruse the offerings in 100 vendor spaces, looking for that special item or bargain that will send them home with a smile. This event now draws shoppers and vendors alike from throughout the Midwest. Offerings include regalia, tools, and services as well as new, used and refurbished parts.
Our club has hosted this event for the last 18 years; it has been a major fundraiser for the CMGC and needs the help of the membership to succeed. Work starts the previous evening with laying out the vendor booths, and starts again early Sunday morning with processing incoming vendors. Throughout the day, additional help is needed to collect admission fees from buyers, and later, to help clean up the site. If you are able to help out, either contact Jim Evans (630-858-8192) or Vic L’Heureux (815-893-6535), or sign up at the February club meeting.
The 19th Annual All British Car Swap Meet & Autojumble will be held on March 15, 2015 from 8am to 2pm at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton IL. Check the club web info at www.britishcarswap.info and GPS to 2015 W Manchester Rd, Wheaton IL 60187.
