Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline August 2018

CMGC Regalia

New MG Club hats are in with 4 styles to choose from. Only $15 per hat.

All CMGC members—-
We have a new On-Line Chicagoland MG Store that replaces Fieldhouse. It is set up and ready for you to purchase and customize with our Club Logo.

The Link to the store is: https://business.landsend.com/store/mg/

It operates much like Fieldhouse did. It is a division of Land’s-End which you are probably familiar with. Their merchandise quality is known, because they have retail stores that seem to carry the same items that are offered on line at our new store. One big difference is that there is a separate charge to put the logo on the item. The price was included in the Fieldhouse price, but with Land’s-End the Embroidery is priced separately. Changing the colors of the Logo does not add to the price. Lands-End also will take back merchandise like Fieldhouse did, even if embroidered.

The new window stickers are in!!

They carry many more items than Fieldhouse, and their prices may be a bit higher, but the customization opportunities are more varied. You can modify the colors of our Logo as much as you want, based on how it would match with the color of clothing that you purchase. Our Club web site will provide a link to the new store soon, but it is open now.

Any member that wants to purchase something can do so and then place our logo on the Item and customize it to see how it will looks. Also, if any one needs help, “Do not hesitate to call George at 847-566-5075, and he will try to help them through the process.”

Note from George

We are in the process of setting up another on-line store with Dave Ransom and this will provide our members with a choice of where and what to shop for. His items will offer merchandise that will be more tailored toward our club needs. We will keep you posted as this develops.

YOUR TURN

Winter in this part of the world can certainly be the doldrums for LBC owners. Although we have little chance to drive ‘em, we do have plenty of time to think about warmer days.

Fortunately, we also enjoy one of the finest newsletters of any club, allowing us to stay connected and share stories. As you know, Victor L’Heureux works tirelessly toward that end, but he needs you and me to give him the material to work with. Many of us have been too busy to lend a hand, but I’m asking you to join me in changing that.

The subject couldn’t be easier, “My first British Car”. Each of us has that story, whether you bought it, inherited it, married into it, or whatever, there is a story to be told. And not just one story per couple because unless your relationship is way different than mine with Maggie (AKA Little Red), there are two sides to every story.

This is the time of the year when our activities are at a minimum, so Vic has plenty of space available and appreciates the input. The first story of “My first British Car” appears in this month’s Driveline and is the cover feature story.

Now it is your turn, you have plenty of time to tell your story and get it to Vic for the following month. And no, don’t rely on someone ELSE to do it. It’s your turn, and we all want to hear your story.
