Chicagoland MG Club: Driveline October 2018
Feature Event

(Continued from page 9)
Amy rallied the troops for 6:15 dinner at the 'Crane and the Pelican' Restaurant. We had the whole place to ourselves, filling the 2 large rooms of this restored Victorian house - WOW!! The service was quick and with pre-selected entries we had very little waiting. The restaurant's atmosphere was delightful. By the way, the Chicagoland MG Club is a noisy group! After dinner Elvis appeared (by magic) to recap in verse the day's events. After dinner some of us walked up the road to '129 Wine Bar' for a quick martini. It turned out to be a good thing that we lingered in the town for a while.....it gave the restaurant manager time to come and find us with the bill! After that was sorted, and Russ had cancelled his down payment on his new Ferrari, we returned to the hotel for our 'Saturday Night Social Hour'. A great way to end a great day!

Sunday morning began with breakfast followed by an 8AM drivers meeting. After the mandatory group picture by the Mississippi River we departed at 8:30. This part of WCBT was an especially scenic route from the hotel to Cajun Jack's Restaurant in Elizabeth IL. Our rolling car show rambled through Jo Daviess County - a scenic journey through forested roads, panoramic countryside vistas and the expanse of the mighty Mississippi.

At Cajun Jack's we had a private room. The food was good and the company even better. Susan and I both wish to thank the Goebberts' Hansons', Hedricks & Wydras and for their kind words, as well as to all of the club members who we consider some of our best friends. We are heading back to Tennessee but will stay members and "active" in the Chicagoland MG Club!

Special thanks to Russ and Amy for all their hard work putting this together!
