Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
September 8, 2019 marked the 33 annual British Car Festival. This year’s event, held at Harper College in Palatine, had a total registration of 373. There were 88 registered MGs of various classes. In addition to the registrants, there were approximately 950 quests who attended.
This year’s event featured a sampling of climate conditions imported from the British Isles. In addition to the cars and typical British weather, the day was filled with various vendors including Bangers and Mash (American style). A word of thanks to those who helped with traffic control. This is a great opportunity to help out on the day of the show and a great place to see the different marques as they enter the field. A special word of thanks to Dave and John for their contributions throughout the year.
Going forward, the British Car Union is continuously looking for opportunities to improve the event’s experience. Also, as club, we are looking for ways of improving. We are aware that in order to keep the day fresh there is a need to offer new experiences. Please feel free to email me any of your suggestions at mayoarch@comcast.net.
Looking forward to seeing you throughout the year and at next year’s Festival.
Respectfully submitted,
Darryl Mayo – MG Rep.
