Mid-Summer Musings

David Lieb Thank-you very much for a well-planned rally, Larry! I wish more of you could have been there for this one. It was embarrassing that only four teams showed up to drive the Mid-Summer Rally, but it was fun for the four of us.

The weather was great, the route was a pleasure to drive, and the clues were challenging without being impossible. I would like to go back and take a picture of the Dutch Girl for Larry, but I am afraid I would have to re-run the whole rally to find it and he didn't give us back the route instructions.

We got our MG content in the form of a Lucas headstone (who is lying between the Busches?) as well as a referrence to Don Anderson (what is colorless and Don Anderson's favorite place to eat?). Larry seems to have forgotten the mandatory wrong route instruction, but I missed a turn anyway, so no harm done.

Larry went so far as to run the rally with family and friends to iron out the kinks. Even so, he had to make three changes after the final drivethrough on Friday night, including eliminating one question completely when The Denim Farm changed their billboard to say 'The Denim Shoppe'. What gall!
