CMGC Project Car Update -
It Moved!

Since the last newsletter, in early July the club project car has been moved from Homewood to Naperville, Illinois, to give some of our more northern members a better shot to attend some of the work sessions. The car is now sheltered at the home garage of Barney Gaylord, with prospects of having work sessions nearly every weekend until it can be finished.

The new project location is: (Click for map)
25W151 Lacey Avenue, Naperville, IL 60563
This has easy access from Ogden Avenue (US-34)
or I-88 at Naperville Road.

This shop has limited air, hand tools, welders, etc., but it would be helpful for people to bring their own hand tools. Keep an eye on the website for notes and photos on progress and what upcoming things we'll be working on. You can also contact Jim or Wade or Barney to get updates.
By the time this newsletter is delivered, we will already have had three work days at the new location. Nine club members were present on July 14 and six members were present on July 21. Body repair work and body re-assembly has been finished, and most of engine reassembly and painting is done. There is a little spot filler and smoothing work and some wet sanding to be finished, also some brake parts and engine installation prior to painting. As soon as we can finish wet sanding (most urgent priority) and make the car driveable, the car will be painted. Some detachable parts (heater, pedal box, etc) are being refurbished separately.

Currently scheduled work dates are:
Aug 4, Saturday 9 am -3 pm;
Aug 18, Saturday 9 am -3 pm;
Aug 26, Sunday 10 am -3 pm.

After painting comes installation of bumpers, grille, lights, windscreen, interior, rag top, and some exterior trim. If you're wondering what is going to be done on any particular day, feel free to call.
