The September meeting was called to order at 8:05PM by Maynard Hirsch, Diana Gonzales and Sharon Anderson.
New member Terry Gaskin was introduced. Guests attending were Ed Filo, John Diehl and Gordon Anderson.

New Purchases:
Barb McCutcheon bought a 1974 maroon MGB-GT at the British Car Festival.

British Car Festival:
Diana Gonzales gave the update on the Festival. 844 British cars were registered. Thanks to all the CMGC members that provided help on the day of the Festival. Don Zbylut from our club won the tickets for the trip to England. Russ Cassolari won the People's Choice Award for his 1968 MGC. Barney Gaylord won 2nd place both as the driver and navigator of the Saturday Rally. Dave Bralich will be the new representative from our club to British Car Union for 1999.

Model Kits:
Last year our club gave a cash gift to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. When he visited the home last year, George Goeppner found that the boys ages 11-14 are interested in building models of any kind. George would like to take models to the boys this year, and would like your help. Please bring any kits you would like to donate to the October and November meetings.

Abingdon Weekend:
There is a strong pre-registration for the Abingdon Weekend. The weekend will start Thursday and Friday with the 1000 mile Abingdon Trials Rally, which starts at 7AM at Jumer's each morning. Friday evening will be the fish fry. Saturday is in Abingdon for the car show in the morning, and the Gymkhana on the downtown streets in the afternoon. Saturday evening the awards banquet is at Jumer's, and the weekend will end with the Sunday brunch.
