Fall Color Tour - Part 2
October 13, 2002

Thanks Mike & Chris for a great tour. The day's drive was amazing (cool but sunny). Carol & I had a wonderful time. For those of you who could not join us, please allow time next spring and fall for the tours to continue.

Thanks Again,   Dave (Cowboy) Bralich

To second Cowboy's sentiments, we had a great day MGing out there in western Illinois, too.

Interestingly enough, on our way east along Rt 20, after being passed by Reinout, we came up on a couple Miatas motoring along with tops down and realized that the one in back was Pat Marcis of the Windy City Miata Club. It turns out that they had their Fall Colour Tour on Sunday as well and were working their way back from Monroe, Wisconsin. We stopped along with them to fill up at a gas station near Rockford and found that they had had a turnout of 48 Miatas. One of their number was in the process of making their peace with a clutch on this trip in a lovely metallic blue Miata they had just gotten in North Carolina. We parted company with them shortly afterwards when they turned south on I39 to hit a truck stop at Rt 38 so they could re-stock on BugStuff which apparently is some miraculous solution for removing bugs from your car.

By the time we got home it was rather dark and a bit chilly, but I didn't want to stop to put up the top, so we tried to look warm. I think I might just go out and buy a couple of those blankets from Harriet Carter that plug into the lighter socket like Pat had; they would certainly come in handy for the Missouri Endurance Rally next March.

Best Regards,   David Lieb

One last word of gratitude for your efforts putting together the route for the run to Galena yesterday. Then again, "having" to test it out last weekend probably came with its own benefits, so maybe you'll need to go again next weekend to relive the event's success? ANY reason to drive these ol MG's is oftentime reason enough for me!!!

Had a great time,   Geoff Morris
