SCCA

On fathers day three members of the CMGC went to try their luck at Utica. There were about 150 cars of all types. My favorite was a Triumph GT6 with a ford V8. In our class we took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Thirty year old sports cars doing this well is a testament to the design. Thanks Abingdon.

Utica CMGC Autocross

On Sunday the 25th we had the Utica autocross. There were 16 drivers out for the day. The weather started out cloudy but, it cleared up nicely. We had four timed runs each with awards going to each class. After running the timed runs there was a Hare and Hound run by Dave (Cowboy) Bralich.

The way a Hare and Hound works is one car takes off followed by The Hound. Each Hound had three laps to catch up to the Hare and thus become the next Hare. Watching the MGB V8 chasing the Red MGB GT was really a sight!

We had two mechanical problems. One was mine, my oil cooler hose sprang a leak. Now I can install the new ones I bought last year! Also Dave Tucker had a brake line leak. With a used one from a MGB his Midget was repaired and raced again.
