Mike Olsen Fall Fest Vintage Races
at Road America

September 21-22, 2001

I have just returned from the Vintage races at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. I can tell you that this is and awesome event. I managed to go in as a crew worker which puts you in the middle of the action.

There were all types of MG’s racing with several club members participating. The groups are broken down by age of car and engine size. From our club we had Scott Foreman #53 group 2, ML Hillard #37 group 2, Kelvin Palmer #34 group 8, and Dave Bralick #31 group 8. If you ever get the chance try asking if any one of these members need help at a race. The experience is worth it.

This was a MG marquee weekend with prewar to MGB’s racing. There were also other type’s of cars and classes Boss Mustangs, Corvettes, Scott&Riley open sports cars, Formula Vee’s, Formula1’s, ect.

The rather damp (Sunday at least) pit provided some cover for CMGCers (Left to Right) Kelvin Palmer, Scott Fohrman, Paul Urquardt, and Dave “Cowboy” Bralich.
The very damp pit on Sunday offered a little protection to Kelvin Palmer, Dave Bralich, Scott Fohrman and their cars.

I am attaching 6 photos of Chicagoland MGers participating in this past weekend’s Fall Festival at Road America. I was only there yesterday in the wet so I missed the beautiful weather Friday and Saturday.
